Work is underway to elevate Cambridge Reserve to a district-level park.
The Hoppers Crossing reserve will receive new play equipment – including swings, sea saw, and tower – plus a new nature play area, a new half basketball/netball court, picnic facilities, BBQ, seating and new pathways.
Wyndham City Mayor and Healthy City portfolio holder Cr Adele Hegedich said the upgrade forms part of Council's strategy to address ageing infrastructure within several Wyndham reserves as detailed in the Play Space Strategy and Open Space Strategy.
“Cambridge Reserve is a much-loved open space among the wider Hoppers Crossing community,” Cr Hegedich said.
“This significant upgrade will breathe new life into the reserve and make better use of the space, creating a more welcoming place to gather, new opportunities to exercise and a fun place for children to spend time outdoors.”
“These works will transform Cambridge Reserve into a district-level park, meaning it will cater not only for Hoppers Crossing residents but also the wider Wyndham community.”
“I’d like to thank those Wyndham residents who took the time to tell us what play elements they wanted to see included during our community consultation process for this project – your invaluable feedback has helped shape the future of this reserve.”
Works are expected to be complete by the end of 2021.
