Curve Safety Improvement Works to Commence on Portland/Sunny Corner Road, Portland

Council is preparing to undertake improvement works on the major curve located on Portland / Sunny Corner Road, Portland, approximately 4 kilometres on the Meadow Flat side of John Mackay Drive.
Works are set to commence in late July 2021 and expected to be completed by the end of September 2021 (weather permitting).
Council aims to increase road safety for motorists in all weather conditions by the completion of this project, and will be undertaking works including shoulder widening, installation of wire rope barriers, installation of audio-tactile line marking and upgrading of the surface to a high friction seal.
Traffic control will be implemented during works, with minor disruptions being expected to traffic flows in both direction within the area during this time. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused during construction.
