The Norfolk Pine Motel in Merimbula will open its doors to all at 10am (until 4pm) on Saturday 31 July for the much-awaited MOTEL Art Fair, for a COVID-safe viewing and shopping experience like no other.
“MOTEL Art Fair will be open all day, offering shire residents and visitors to our fantastic region rooms containing artworks for sale from three galleries and 16 of our most accomplished artists,” Gallery Director, Iain Dawson said.
“Many of these local artists have works in the collection of the Art Gallery of NSW and the National Gallery of Australia.
“Each artist – landscape photographers, illustrators, ceramicists, glass artists, painters and jewellers - will welcome you into their own gallery motel-room and tell you the stories behind their works.”
Mr Dawson said he is often asked by visitors where they can access local artists works for their collections.
“Art fairs have long been a wonderful vehicle to bring together artists, galleries and buyers into a fun and accessible forum.
“The MOTEL Art Fair provides a one-stop-shop for first time buyers, visitors and experienced collectors to meet and buy works from our incredible artists.
“We’ve handpicked this select group of artists for the level of quality their work represents; we have emerging artists fresh out of art school and artists who have been practicing and exhibiting over a long and distinguished career.
“It’s an opportunity like no other, where you can view and buy as many different pieces of art for yourself or for someone special to you. Christmas is only 177 days away.
“While you’re there, you will also be able to grab a coffee and treats from Ragino’s Coffee and enjoy the music of Kyle Wilson’s special Art Month Pop Up Music Box.”
