Riders will be able to test out some new thrills and skills at the JJ Melbourne Hills Memorial Reserve with a new dirt jump area recently completed and BMX track upgraded.

The upgraded BMX track includes a more durable surface and Australian Standard competition lighting. These additions have turned the BMX track into one of the premier BMX racing venues in Sydney.

The new dirt jumps area, built with involvement from the Garigal Gorillas Mountain Bike Club, will complement the recently renewed BMX race track and the all-weather pump track.

The pump track was the most recent addition to the facility, being built by Council in the last few years and has been extremely popular among riders.

These tracks are maintained by Council and volunteers from the Manly Warringah BMX Club. The Club receives funding through fundraising and race entry money.

The Club is a small, family-orientated sporting club that is open to all ages and abilities, focusing on having fun and learning new skills.

The pump track, the dirt jumps, and BMX race track are available for free casual use when the Club is not using it and the track is not wet following rain.

A reminder please don’t ride on tracks when it is raining or when they are still wet as it does serious damage to the surface.

Also, please remember to be COVID-safe and adhere to the current health orders including maintaining social distancing while at the park.

The Northern Beaches is fast becoming a premium biking destination with the world-class mountain bike facility at Bare Creek, Belrose and upgrades proposed for Grove Bike Park in Seaforth.
