The Mount Isa cattle spelling yards will go under the hammer next month. Billed as the "livestock gateway from Northern Territory to Queensland" the freehold yards are situated on 16.3ha in the northern outskirts of the city with road train access to the nearby Barkly Hwy. The vendors are North Star Pastoral which purchased the cattle spelling facility in 2019 from Longreach graziers and stock and station agency operators, Boyd and Mandy Curran for an undisclosed price. The yards have around 3000 head total capacity with two unloading ramps, one loading ramp, two half deck scales, plunge dip and sprinkler system. There is a three-bedroom air-conditioned home on the property as well as horse stables and hayshed, and water is supplied by sub bore and town water Agent Elders Mount Isa said it was an ideally located, privately owned spelling and dipping complex. "Turnkey and ready for the new owner to take this business to the next level," said. Elders win run the auction at the Mount Isa Irish Club at 11am Wednesday, August 18.
