Council officially adopted its 2021-22 Annual Plan and Budget Estimates at its July meeting last night.
The Annual Plan and Budget Estimates presents Council’s agreed direction in terms of its:
Annual Plan Budget Estimates (Capital and Operating) Rates Resolution Fees and ChargesMayor Steve Kons thanked and acknowledged the community, volunteers, Council staff, and Councillors for their efforts during what has been a difficult year.
Cr Kons said the next 18 months will see us transition into a new service delivery model for arts and culture in the City, underpinned by the development of the new Cultural Centre.
“The Council’s new model of securing partnerships with events management and community groups to fund and enable the provision of community events throughout the year remains an exciting prospect as it enables us to think about new and vibrant events for the community that could be realised.
“We are modernising our Council and giving it a change of direction. I applaud the efforts of all Councillors in their solidarity over the past twelve months where we have stepped up and made some brave but well informed decisions that will bring benefit and equity to our Burnie community. Your resolve and commitment has been unwavering."
