Rural residents in the Michelago region are encouraged to register for the new Bank of Bins service located at the old Michelago RFS Shed. This service opened to registered users as of Sunday 1 August 2021.

The new service provides rural residents with access to waste disposal at more convenient times. Application forms can be obtained through Council’s website or by contacting Council directly.

Completed forms can be returned by email, post or in-person at a Council office. The Bank of Bins setup at Michelago does not require keys, so residents can arrange and use the service without the need to travel to Cooma.

Council’s resource and waste collection staff will also continue to service the rural community each Saturday morning as usual until Saturday 28 August 2021. This is to ensure that all rural residents can be informed of the changes to waste disposal. To help inform as many people as possible about the new service Council has also been circulating information through the local paper, on social media and in-person information stalls.

The Michelago Bank of Bins is a significant investment in a sustainable future for the wider Michelago region, ensuring the rural community has access to safe, clean, efficient and modern waste disposal facilities now and into the future.
