Consider yourself a green thumb? The Dig It Isaac competition is back and garden-loving residents can have their share in more than $3000 in prizes.

Following a successful debut, Isaac Regional Council has again partnered with generous local businesses across the Isaac region, bringing the competition to life from 2 August to 19 September.

Mayor Anne Baker said she is excited to see the return of the competition and is inviting residents to get back to basics and back to nature.

“This time of the year is a wonderful time right across our region to start a new garden, finesse that lawn or complete a project that’s been sitting on the to-do list for a bit too long!” Mayor Baker said.

The categories in this year’s competition are Best Overall Garden, Best Edible Garden, Best Native Garden, Best Lawn, Best Potted Garden and Best School, Kindy or Daycare Garden.

“Winners will share in $3050 worth of Shop Isaac gift cards with the major prize winner walking away with $1000 to spend at Isaac businesses,” Mayor Anne Baker said.

“I can’t wait to see what amazing creations our keen gardeners create and wow us with this year! And of course, a huge shout out to our local sponsors for supporting this community initiative.”

Entrants have from now until 19 September, close of business to spend $20 at a local business and complete their entry.

When your garden is ready to go, upload photos or videos of your project plus receipts from your local purchases at www.speakup.isaac.qld.gov.au

The Dig It Isaac panel will then judge entries and announce winners on Friday 1 October.

All the information and entry details are available at www.speakup.isaac.qld.gov.au or by calling 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227).
