Federal Member for Latrobe, Jason Wood, said “I’m very proud to have secured Federal funding for the upgrades at the Princes Highway/Glismann Road Intersection and Princes Highway / O’Neil Road Intersection, Beaconsfield, as these intersections have caused so much community feedback regarding how dangerous the roads are”.

“I have personally spoken to people, who have tragically been involved in dangerous incidents at the O’Neil Road Intersection which is why I made it my priority to secure funding to improve these intersections. I thank Cardinia Shire Council for working with me to ensure people get home sooner and safer”, he said.

Cr Owen said: “We’re pleased to be providing funding of $18.3M for this intersection program, with works now completed at these Intersections at Glismann Road / Beaconsfield Avenue and O’Neil Road Beaconsfield”.

“The completion of these projects at key intersections will improve the travel experience for all road-users and improved safety along this section of the Princes Highway. There are two schools close to this intersection and the improvement in safety and reduction in congestion will be to the advantage of students, teachers and parents alike.” Cr Owen said.
