Lithgow Animal Shelter will have limited public access from Monday 9 August 2021

9 August, 2021

Lithgow Animal Shelter will have limited public access from Monday 9 August 2021 due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to the current public health situation in NSW, the Lithgow Animal Shelter will have restricted access to the public from Monday 9 August 2021 until further notice. This will ensure that social distancing requirements can be met. People wishing to attend the shelter will need to make an appointment the day before attending to avoid disappointment and being refused entry.

If you wish to attend the shelter to surrender an animal, collect a lost animal or to view animals available for adoption, please contact Council on 02 6354 9999 to arrange an appointment time. Lost animals can still be dropped off at the drop-boxes located at the front of the shelter, and these remain open 24 hours.

All visitors will be required to adhere to the current Public Health Orders whilst at the shelter, including the wearing of masks at all times and registering their details via the Service NSW QR code prior to entry.

Council Rangers will continue to manage the shelter as normal during these times, with the safety and well-being of animals remaining of utmost importance.
