Wollondilly’s popular arts and cultural festival, Illuminate Wollondilly has been postponed due to the continuing Covid-19 situation and uncertainty regarding timing of the end of lockdown.

With original plans to hold the festival in September now off the agenda, the event is planned to be rescheduled for Friday 12, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 November 2021.

This will be the sixth year for the popular arts and cultural festival, which is known for attracting thousands of visitors to Picton throughout the day and night.

Mayor Robert Khan said, “We are working hard to make this a Covid safe event to help us celebrate with the community and visitors after lockdown ends.”

“We hope Illuminate Wollondilly will provide a boost for our local businesses, artists and performers who have been doing it tough over the last two years.”

“I would like to thank all our partner sponsors for their patience as we reorganise the program, and the staff from Council who are working hard to bring this event together despite the ongoing challenges.” he said.

“There is still some uncertainty over Covid-related restrictions on public gatherings in the months ahead, so we will be monitoring the Public Health Orders and adjusting the plans as we need to.”

Illuminate is the only event of its kind in Wollondilly. As well as the spectacular building illuminations, this year’s program is expected to include the Waste to Art exhibition, a long table dinner, a Jazz festival and some headline music acts.
