The recent rainfall has made good conditions for the Avon Descent Festival which returns to Lilac Hill, Caversham, on Sunday August 15 from 10am – 3pm.
The Avon Descent, WA’s most iconic water race, passes through some of our state’s most picturesque locations, including the Swan Valley vineyard region, Upper Swan Bridge, and Bells Rapids.
If you prefer dry soil, City of Swan Mayor Kevin Bailey said the free family fun day at Lilac Hill is just one way residents and families can get involved in the race, and enjoy the free activities and entertainment.
“We’ve got a cracking on-stage line up on the Brabham Estate main stage, including Coby Grant, Josephine and Goggles, Fliptease Circus, and big screens where you can watch the live race footage from Bells Rapids,” Mayor Bailey said.
“Grab something to eat from the food truck line up and kick back in the Movida Estate chill zone, take in the Artisan and Retro Markets, and a stack of free rides and amusements.
“There is something for everyone and it’ll be a fantastic day out.”
Take away the stress of parking. Free parking and a shuttle bus service will be available from Swan Active Beechboro.
The Avon Descent Festival is proudly presented by the City of Swan and supported by Movida Estate, Brabham Estate, Midland Gate, Perth Airport, VCM Events, and Lotterywest.
