Planned hazard reduction burn: Nogoa River, Campbell Street, Emerald

Posted on August 12, 2021

A hazard reduction burn is planned for the area adjacent to the Nogoa River between Campbell Street and the lower weir in Emerald on the weekends 15 to 16 and 21 to 22 August 2021.

Burns are dependent on weather and soil moisture conditions on the day and may be postponed if not suitable.

Residents may see smoke and ash in the area, although every attempt will be made to keep this to a minimum.

Hazard reduction burns are carried out in partnership between local urban and rural fire units, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and council.
