Road safety will be improved in four City of Wanneroo locations if the City is successful in securing Black Spot funding.
The funding has been applied for under the 2022/2023 Federal and State Government Black Spot Programs.
Locations were selected following analysis of the latest crash data from the Main Roads WA Crash Analysis Reporting System.
If approved, the works will cost a total of $4.18 million and will include improvements to intersections, roadsides and street lighting.
Projects approved under the Federal Black Spot Program will receive full funding, while those approved under the State Black Spot Program will receive funding for two-thirds of the project, with the remaining third funded by the City of Wanneroo.
Applications will be considered by the Metropolitan Regional Road Group in the coming months. The Minister for Transport is expected to announce approved projects in May 2022.
Any projects that are not approved for Black Spot funding will continue to be monitored by the City and alternative funding options will be sought.
