Bayside’s 16 outdoor dining areas will remain in place until Council considers their long-term future.
The spacelets were established as temporary structures in car parking spaces in October 2020 thanks to a Victorian Government hospitality grant and were scheduled to be removed from 31 August 2021.
Following feedback from businesses and the community, the removal will be paused until Councillors can further consider the matter at the 14 September Council meeting.
The outdoor dining marquee at Beaumaris Concourse, as previously resolved by Council on 18 May 2021 will remain in place till March 2022.
It is anticipated, if supported by Council, that community consultation on the outdoor dining structures will occur following the September meeting.
