Waste Management Facilities Closed for All Non-essential Residential Services

Moree Shire Council has restricted access to non-essential residential services at all waste management facilities across the Shire, following updated advice from the NSW Environment Protection Authority.

Waste management facilities will remain open for essential commercial services and general waste disposal from residents who do not have a kerbside collection service.

The NSW EPA has directed Councils across NSW to close recycling and waste management facilities to the general public for the duration of the stay-at-home public health orders, as it is only considered a  “reasonable excuse”  for residents to take waste to a landfill if they do not receive a kerbside collection.

Kerbside waste collection will continue as normal and residents are encouraged to utilise these services where possible.

We remind essential users of facilities, to ensure they continue to wear a mask, sign in via QR code and follow staff and signage instructions.

Council wishes to apologies for any inconvenience this may incur however this is a direction under the current Public Health Order.
