As we head towards Spring, our lifeguards are getting ready to begin patrols at Dee Why and Freshwater this weekend. They will join our year-round patrol at Manly Beach daily from 8am-4pm.
The rest of Council’s beaches will begin patrols on the18 September with the assistance of Surf Life Saving volunteers on weekends and public holidays.
Lifeguards will be reminding swimmers and beachgoers of the COVID restrictions via the public address systems including gatherings of no more than one other person unless you’re from the same household. And please remember to stay 1.5 metres or a towel length apart.
We also remind beachgoers to understand their capability, swim between the flags, follow the direction of lifeguards and if you’re not sure, ask a lifeguard for advice.
And even though it’s still winter, don’t forget to cover up from the sun’s harmful rays and slip, slop, slap.
