Mareeba Shire Council has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our team. The Senior Project Manager is to provide project management services to ensure delivery of Council’s capital works projects within defined time, quality and budget constraints.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion, achieving a high standard of quality, within budget constraints. The Senior Project Manager will lead consultation and negotiations with internal and external authorities including public utility authorities, statutory entities and other Government departments relating to specific project approvals and act as the delegated Council representative. This position will provide expert advice and support to the Manager Technical Services and Project Managers to ensure Council complies with its legislative and contractual obligations (including compliance with specifications/standards) in the preparation and delivery of capital works and other relevant projects.
Current Diploma level qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or equivalent experience are essential for this position. Significant achievements in the successful project management of major and minor projects from concept to completion including managing the planning, design, procurement and construction phase including site supervision and contract administration.
