Mayor of Maroondah, Cr Kylie Spears, said Council rates were a contribution each ratepayer made towards the cost of maintaining community infrastructure and the community services provided by Council.
“Rates revenue, along with Council’s other income, helps to fund important local infrastructure and essential services for the benefit of the entire community,” Cr Spears said.
“Council is acutely aware that the past 18 months have been particularly challenging, and we assure the community that all conversations and communication with Council around financial support remain confidential in accordance with Council Privacy regulations,” she said.
“Council is also mindful that everyone’s circumstances are different, so I encourage residents to contact us to discuss any concerns they may have about their ability to pay any Council fees, charges or rates,” Cr Spears added.
Council endeavours to make the payment of rates as easy as possible for all ratepayers. In addition to conventional methods of payment, electronic banking is also available. For information on various payment options, please visit our Rates page.
