Online meeting to set up community cricket club at James Bathe Reserve  Published: 7 September 2021

An online meeting to discuss the formation of a new cricket club at James Bathe Reserve in Pakenham will take place next week.

Cardinia Shire Council in partnership with Cricket Victoria is working to establish the new community cricket club.

The online community meeting will be held on Wednesday 15 September at 6:30pm.

It is anticipated the club will commence with Woolworths Cricket Blast and will focus on juniors for season 21/22.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Brett Owen is calling on the community to put up their hand up and help be part of the formation of this new inclusive cricket club.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to bring cricket to this brand-new sporting hub and officially call it their home,” Cr Owen said.

“We really want to see the continued growth of cricket in our Shire. It is a fantastic sport for everyone.

“I encourage you to come along to the meeting and take part in the development of this cricket club.”

Central Ward Councillor Collin Ross encouraged all residents to come along to the online community meeting.

“It doesn’t matter if you have a cricket background or not, jump online and learn all about this new cricket club and how it will benefit our community,” Cr Ross said.

All community members are welcome to jump online and attend the online meeting.

James Bathe Recreation Reserve is located at 67 Caversham Drive, Pakenham.
