Griffiths Park mural completed

A 30-metre long and 6.5-metre high mural representing the diverse cross section of community members who use Griffiths Park area has been completed.

Part of the Urban Art project, artist Daniel (Wally) Wallwork drew inspiration from players, members and spectators of the surrounding clubs – Cairns Basketball, Cairns Cricket Association, Cairns Saints AFL and West Cairns Bowls Club.

The painting started with night sessions where a projector was used to help trace the artwork's outlines.

The artists then returned in the daylight to add bright colours and details.
