Garage Sale Trail 2021

Registrations are now open for Yorke Peninsula Council’s Garage Sale Trail event, the perfect opportunity to sell unwanted items, pick up a few bargains, and help the environment.

This year’s Garage Sale Trail will be held in local yards (Covid restrictions permitting) and online over two weekends — November 13-14 and 20-21.

Powered locally by Yorke Peninsula Council, the national festival encourages residents to sell, shop and learn about the circular economy.

Yorke Peninsula Council Mayor Darren Braund said the Garage Sale Trail would be a win-win for the planet and residents’ pockets.

“After last year’s Garage Sale Trail was forced to move entirely online due to COVID-19 restrictions, we expect locals to really get behind the initiative this year as true community garage sales are again allowed,” Mr Braund said.

“A circular economy means items are kept in use for as long as possible, delivering the highest value they can, for as long as they can.

“We encourage people to register their sales via Yorke Peninsula Council’s Garage Sale Trail website.

“Whether they’re hosting a sale virtually or in person, sellers receive a bunch of resources and tips to make their sale a Covid-safe success, including touch-free QR code payments enabled by PayPal.”

Trail Tutorials: Garage Sale Trail is hosting an expanded Trail Tutorials program on Saturday and Sunday, November 6-7. A free series of six tutorials featuring expert presenters will help viewers learn about the circular economy and how we can all get involved. Seller resources: After registering, sellers will receive tools and tips for success. In-person sellers can access free posters, social media promotional assets, price tags and a Covid-safe toolkit. Online sellers will get promotional material plus tips and tricks from Garage Sale Trail ambassador and online super-seller Danielle Goodwin from Hawkeye Vintage.

PayPal partnership: Garage Sale Trail has partnered with PayPal for 2021. This will allow participants to use PayPal QR codes for touch-free payments.
