Help for those doing it tough
AlburyCity News 14 Sep 2021

That’s why we’ve stepped up our emergency food relief program at our community centres, Glenecho and Mirambeena, to provide hampers of fresh, nutritious food to help people doing it particularly tough to get through the crisis.

With support from Albury Wodonga FoodShare and the Department of Communities and Justice, we’re providing free hampers containing non-perishable food as well as bread, milk, eggs and fresh fruit and vegetables.

The community centres have been providing emergency food support for several years but the effects of lockdown, and the associated closure of some service agencies, have resulted in a significant increase in requests for help. It’s part of our mission to support people in financial crisis so we’re grateful to our partners for their help in providing this important service.

The hampers are provided in Covid-safe conditions twice a week, by appointment only.

For help at Glenecho, clients are advised to make an appointment by calling 0439 495 152.

Mirambeena clients can make an appointment on 0400 412 703.

It’s essential that all clients using the service follow Covid-safe regulations, including waiting outside the receive their hampers, scanning QR codes, wearing masks and sanitising hands.

Thank you for co-operation as we work together to help people in these challenging times.
