Services re-opening after lockdown

Following the joy across regional NSW after coming out of the recent lockdown, residents will see the removal of closures across the Shire in the following service areas.

Council is pleased to announce the re-opening of some of the toilet amenities and all play equipment within the shire with increased cleaning measures.

“I am particularly pleased to see the opening of our playgrounds, great news for the upcoming school holidays, allowing families to use the space and kids to enjoy the familiarity of outdoor playtime,” said General Manager, Lester Rodgers.

Staff have been working hard to ensure we were able to re-open as many facilities as soon as possible while strictly adhering to State Government guidelines to ensure the safety of our community, visitors, and staff. Moree ✅Toilet amenities on Balo Street remains open with increased cleaning ✅Toilet amenities open at Apex, Jacaranda, and Rocket Park(s) with increased cleaning ✅ Play equipment and open space at Spilsbury Park ✅Skate Park  ✅Exercise equipment across from Kirkby (Rocket) Park

Villages ✅ Play equipment in parks

Moree Community Library ✅ Week commencing 13 September, 9am – 3pm ✅ Week commencing 20 September, 9am – 5pm

Mungindi Library ✅Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9.30am – 1.00pm, 1.30pm – 4.30pm

Mungindi Municipal Pools - Winter Hours Monday to Saturday - 7.30am - 2.00pm    Sunday - 12.00pm - 5.00pm

Dhiiyaan Aborginal Centre ✅ Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

Waste Management Facilities and Village landfills ✅ Moree Waste Management Facility and village landfills ✅ Weekly general waste collection (red bin) and fortnightly recycling (yellow bin) and organics (green bin) waste collection.

Gwydir Daycare and Preschool ✅ This facility remains open.

Moree Pound ✅ The Moree Pound is currently open and operating under its usual hours.
