COVID-19 vaccine clinic for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

Southern NSW Local Health District is running a walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families at Yass Soldiers Memorial Hall this Thursday (23 September).
The clinic will be open between 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and will be administering the Pfizer vaccine.
Onerwal Local Aboriginal Land Council Chief Executive and proud Ngunnawal man Brad Bell is encouraging the community to attend.
“COVID-19 has now arrived in Yass. It is important to protect our community by attending the Aboriginal COVID-19 clinic on Thursday and by following the current COVID-19 restrictions. Doing this will help protect you, your families and the broader community... Let’s do this together," said Brad.
Yass Valley Mayor Rowena Abbey said the local community has been doing a great job of getting vaccinated.
“We need to continue to do this and I want to particularly encourage our local Indigenous community to take advantage of the clinic at the Memorial Hall this Thursday. The clinic has been set-up to ensure easy access to the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Mayor Abbey.
Yass Police Station Officer in Charge, Inspector David Cowell, said it’s important we all get vaccinated.
"It's very important to get vaccinated, not just to protect yourself, but also to protect your family and your community.”

SNSWLHD is also running walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics for anyone over the age of 18 at the Memorial Hall this Friday (24 September) and Saturday (25 September).
The clinics will be open between 9:00 am – 4:00 pm and will be administering the AstraZeneca vaccine.
