Council Update on Moree Aquatic Centre

Following the appointment of a liquidator to Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre Ltd (in liquidation) (“MAAC”) on 29 July 2021, Council is pleased to provide the following updates on the Artesian Aquatic Centre.

Council is in regular contact with the liquidator, who has been arranging payments for trade creditors and progressing the assessment of MAAC staff entitlements. Council continues to fund these liabilities.

The liquidator has also been operating the gym business on a limited and temporary basis so as to minimise disruption to gym users, until more permanent arrangements can be made.

Council is now looking to move forward the construction phase to improve this asset for the benefit of the Moree community and will provide the community with further updates as matters progress.
