Fremantle residents are encouraged to dust off their helmets, pump up their tyres and give cycling a go during WA Bike Month.
Held from 1–31 October, Bike Month is Western Australia’s annual celebration of bike riding for transport, fun and a healthier lifestyle, and aims to encourage people of all ages and abilities to ride more often for everyday trips.
The City of Fremantle is celebrating Bike Month with a number of free community events for the whole family to enjoy, including a Morning Coffee Ride Community Bike Event at South Beach, Fremantle Bike Tours and support for The Big Bike Film Night.
As a bike-friendly city, Fremantle has dedicated on-road bike lanes, shared cycle paths, safe intersections for cyclists and bike parking bays throughout the city.
The City of Fremantle’s Bike Plan 2019–2024 sets the City’s priorities for bike infrastructure projects, programs and promotional activities for the next five years. Read the Fremantle Bike Plan.
