Lithgow City Council and Western Sydney University are working together to assist businesses impacted by the 2019/20 fires by offering FREE co-working facilities at the Maldhan Ngurr Ngurra Lithgow Transformation Hub.

Launched at the Strengthening Business Networking event on Thursday 28 October, Council’s Community Recovery Officer Rachel Nicoll said the partnership was focused on offering immediate and longer-term assistance.

“The Hub and Council are working together to help affected businesses through a range of flexible options and support for those impacted by the fires,” Ms Nicoll said.

Named Maldhan Ngurr Ngurra (‘working together, side by side’) – the Lithgow Transformation Hub is a collaborative space where the Lithgow community, business, government, education, and industry can share knowledge and resources, and work together towards a sustainable and thriving future.

Deb Bardon, the Manager of the Hub said: “Western Sydney University is committed to providing opportunities for the Lithgow community, and this initiative is a great example of various partners coming together to meet evolving community needs”.

The offer will provide flexible and shared workspaces for remote workers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. There are no long-term commitments, and users can customise their access to the space as well as meeting room use, high speed internet, printing, start-up business resources and more.

Along with supporting Lithgow’s businesses, the Transformation Hub is a place where industry can make connections for potential collaboration.

Ms Nicoll said those interested should call Council or Lithgow Transformation Hub on 02 6354 4505 to speak to Deb Bardon who can detail the assistance being offered.
