2021 LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION

Lachlan Shire Council elections will be held on Saturday 4 December 2021. Council’s customer service teams at Lake Cargelligo and Condobolin can accept paper nomination forms with full payment up until 12 noon, Wednesday 3 November 2021. Late nominations cannot be accepted under any circumstances. Candidates can find information on Council’s website https://www.lachlan.nsw.gov.au/council/council-elections.aspx or go to the NSW Electoral Commission website - www.elections.nsw.gov.au to nominate online.

RECREATION

▪ Council swimming pools in Condobolin, Lake Cargelligo, and Tottenham are now open for the summer swimming season.

▪ Stage 3 – installation of Condobolin cricket and soccer field irrigation in progress.

▪ Tottenham tennis court lights – footings complete and pole relocation progressing.

▪ Landscaping at the Condobolin Jockey’s Memorial in progress in partnership with TAFE.

ROADS

▪ Grace and Foster Street intersection, Lake Cargelligo – asphalting of intersection commenced this week, with a completion date of Thursday 28 October (weather permitting).

▪ Resealing of Grace Street from the end of asphalt to Johnston Street will be completed by Friday 29 October.

▪ SR 120 Merribogie Road – reconstruct and widen 7km. The first 2km was sealed last week.

▪ SR 1029 Tullibigeal Road – construct and seal 13km from the end of seal to Lachlan Valley Way – sealing completed 21 October.

▪ Innes Street, Officers Parade – footpath construction continuing.

▪ Gum Bend Lake – sealing of tracks commenced this week.

▪ Maintenance grading on the unsealed road network is continuing in preparation for the forthcoming grain harvest.

▪ All shire roads are expected to reopen this week as the Lachlan River level falls at Condobolin week commencing 25 October.

UTILITIES

Condobolin water supply shutdown - Following recent successful trials, Council will be undertaking critical remediation works at the Condobolin reservoirs on Wednesday 27 October 2021. This will result in a major supply interruption across the entire Condobolin water network between 11:00 pm and 5:00 am (6 hours). Residents in the surrounding areas to the reservoirs may experience some noise due to pumps running 24/7. Please ensure that pets are safe and secured.

Condobolin Borefields II Project - Pipeline works progressing with the contractor clearing the site. It is anticipated that the pipeline construction will start in the first week of November 2021.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND COMMUNITY BUILDING PROJECT UPDATES

Gum Bend Lake amenities - blockwork complete and roof construction underway.

Condobolin Animal Shelter - foundation prepared with slab to be poured this week.

Condobolin Youth Centre – kitchen installation nearing completion.
