Rural communities within the Benalla Rural City are working together with Council to develop a four-year plan for their township, capturing their priorities and vision for the future.
The project offers rural communities the opportunity to get involved and to voice suggestions, ideas and opinions on what matters most to them in their community.
The first stage of consultation is seeking written feedback from community members on the draft plans.
Consultation is initially being carried out within the townships of Baddaginnie, Swanpool and Thoona, with rural towns including Chesney Vale, Devenish, Goorambat, Goomalibee, Boweya, Mt Bruno, Warrenbayne, Winton, Moorngag, Tatong, Molyullah, Lurg, Lima to follow.
“Once feedback has been received, Council would like to bring together community members to present the feedback, discuss, finalise and adopt rural township plans for each participating community,” said Benalla Rural City Council Mayor Cr Danny Claridge.
