Mareeba Shire Council has an exciting opportunity for a Stores Assistant to join our Stores team. The Stores Assistant is responsible for issuing and receiving inventory, floating plant and loose tools at Council’s busy store facilities.
On an average day, you are likely to process store requisitions and issues on Council’s Inventory Management system, maintain data collected for fuel rebate purposes, help maintain the database register for personal floating plant, and ensure that these items are in a serviceable condition for internal use, issue safety equipment and clothing to employees and obtain quotes from suppliers. You will also assist in regular and annual stocktakes for all inventory items.
Experience with inventory management and stock control is essential. You must have sound computer skills and sound skills in oral and written communication, necessary to liaise with suppliers and internal customers. A dangerous goods licence, forklift ticket and awareness of ChemWatch or other type of system for the maintenance of Material Safety Data Sheets are desirable.
