The City of Wanneroo has a new Deputy Mayor, with South Ward Councillor Brett Treby voted in by fellow councillors at the 26 October Special Council Meeting.
Cr Treby was elected for a two year term, with the role being re-elected every Ordinary Council Election cycle.
City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts congratulated Cr Treby on being elected to the role.
“We are very proud to have Cr Treby in the role of Deputy Mayor,” she said.
“Cr Treby is a passionate and dedicated member of the City and an advocate for many important issues in our community.”
Mayor Roberts also acknowledged the commitment of former Deputy Mayor, Cr Frank Cvitan.
“I extend my sincerest appreciation and gratitude to Cr Cvitan for his experience and dedication during his term as Deputy Mayor from 2019 to 2021," she said.
“Cr Cvitan has served the community for 20 years as a ward councillor, showing immense commitment to our community and to the City.
“His experience and knowledge is invaluable, and we are very fortunate that Cr Cvitan continues to serve as a Central Ward Councillor.”
Councillors were also appointed delegates to various committees, advisory groups and working groups during the Special Council Meeting, and Council meeting dates were set for 2022.
