Ararat Gallery TAMA is providing young artists with the opportunity to continue their artistic endeavours at home with a new Mini Makers at-home kits.
The Gallery is known for its popular monthly Mini Makers Art Club sessions, giving young ones a chance to create beautiful craft in a Gallery environment. Adapting to COVIDSafe restrictions, Gallery staff found a new way for junior creators to continue their Mini-Makers sessions at home, with a free take-home activity kit.
Mayor Jo Armstrong emphasised the importance of exposing young children to art experiences which are both fun and creative.
“While the Mini Makers program usually consists of craft activities held in Gallery, our staff chose a different route to accommodate COVIDsafe guidelines by offering take-away kits,” Cr Armstrong said.
“Mini Makers at home ensures our community can still enjoy the creative activities and unleash that budding creativity that forms part of the popular kids program.
“The take-home kits are a great way for young artists to continue developing creative expression and fine motor skills within the home.
“This month’s take-away kit is centered around ducks and nature – all you need is a glue stick and a pair of scissors.
“We look forward to welcoming back families at the Gallery for regular Mini Maker workshops in December.”
The activity packs are available to collect from the Gallery reception throughout October and November 2021.
