The Armidale region’s annual Christmas celebrations will return this year, lighting up Beardy Street Mall on Thursday 2 December and Bradley Street Guyra on Friday 3 December.

Armidale’s festivities will commence from 5pm with Santa and his elves making a special appearance at the festive fun event.

Beardy Street Mall will be transformed into a street of market stalls, food vans, live entertainment and kids’ activities. Festivities will span from Faulkner Street to Jessie Street as the celebration continues to grow in popularity and to adhere to social distancing regulations.

Armidale Regional Council General Manager James Roncon said it’s fantastic to see this wonderful community event return after COVID preventing it from going ahead last year.

“The event is a great opportunity to get out and about, get social and support local businesses.”

The Guyra Christmas Carnival in Bradley Street will then be held on Friday 3 December at 4pm.

Council and the Rotary Club of Guyra are teaming up for the Guyra celebration, which includes the lighting of the town Christmas tree, market stalls and a visit by Santa.
