Western Downs Regional Council’s commitment to providing quality customer service has received national recognition after being named 2021 Winners of the Australian Service Excellence Award presented by Customer Service Institute of Australia (CSIA).
The CSIA Awards celebrate and reward Australia’s top-performing individuals and organisations in the field of customer service. Each year attendees from both private enterprise and government, come together to recognise best practice and innovation and the important role that customer service plays in today’s world.
Acting Customer Contact Supervisor, Stephanie Stewart accepted the award on behalf of Council stating that recognition at a national level was an honour and rewarded the drive and efforts of Council to provide excellent customer service to our community.
“We pride ourselves on our quality service delivery and our dedication to serving the people in the Western Downs,” said Ms Stewart.
“Our region is geographically dispersed, and our customer service teams works right across the region, but together we commit to providing our customers the same high standard customer service.”
WDRC competed in the Not-For-Profit/Local Government category with a nomination that showcased the whole organisation’s commitment to customer service.
Acting Chief Executive Officer Mrs Jodie Taylor said that this national recognition of excellent customer service delivery demonstrates Council’s commitment to serving the community that we belong to.
“We recognise that within any organisation, as with Council, it’s the people that make it, and Council is proud of the achievements of our customer service staff, Mrs Taylor said.
“This award is fantastic recognition of the efforts of everyone at Council who works with members of our community.
“We extend our congratulations to the other finalists and winners at this year’s awards,” Mrs Taylor said.
Council was announced as a finalist for the award in July this year before a nervous wait for the national awards which were celebrated remotely across Australia on October 28th.
