As the weather warms up, now is the perfect time to enroll your child in Yass Valley Council’s 2021/22 Swimming Program.
From stroke correction to competitive swimming, there is a wide range of programs on offer after school, from Monday to Friday, at Yass Memorial Swimming Pool to help children improve their swimming abilities.
Yass Valley Council’s swimming lessons, which run on Monday and Tuesday, from 15 November-17 December, are perfect for children aged three and above to build their confidence in the water.
These swimming lessons are suitable for children who have never been in the water to learn about water safety, basic swimming techniques and survival.
Children already confident in their swimming abilities can become more advanced by taking part in the stroke correction or competitive swimming programs, which begin on 8 November. Active Kids vouchers will be accepted for these two programs.
All new children wanting to take part in the stroke correction and/or competitive swimming program will need to complete an assessment at 3:30 pm on 8 November at Yass Pool, so they can be grouped correctly based on their swimming ability.

All of Council’s swimming teachers are suitably qualified and accredited by NSW.
2021/2022 Council Swimming Program
Stroke correction Parents and swimmers will have the option between two groups - 3:30 pm-5:00 pm and 5:00 pm-6:30 pm Monday to Thursday. Cost: $143 for the first child, $123 for each additional child. Competitive swimming Parents and swimmers will have the option between two groups - 3:30 pm-5:00 pm and 5:00 pm-6:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 3:30 pm-5:00 pm Friday. Cost: $256. Swimming lessons (Block A - 1 day per week for 5 weeks) 15 November-17 December 2021. Monday and Tuesday only. Cost: $72 per child. Intensive swimming lessons program Yass Week 1: 3-7 January. Week 2: 10-14 January. Week 3: 17-21 January. Binalong Week 1: 10-14 January. Morning lap swimming Will be conducted in 1/2 hour timeslots: 6:00 am-6:30 am, 6:45 am-7:15 am and 7:30 am-8:00 am. Participants will be required to pre-book their session. However, bookings will not be restricted and participants will be able to book more than one session. Aqua aerobics Day class: 11:00 am on Wednesday and Friday only (commences 3 December 2021). Evening class: 6:00 pm on Tuesday only (currently not available).
