Middlemount Water Restrictions Lowered to Level 1

Isaac Regional Council wishes to advise the Middlemount community that the current Level 3 water restrictions have been lowered to Level 1 in Middlemount, effective from Friday, 5 November 2021.

Isaac Regional Council has considered the methodologies that could be applied to water supply and consumption, to manage demand and reduce prolonged water restrictions.

Council is proposing the following interim method for water restrictions in Middlemount:

Level 1 – Fairbairn Dam High Priority Water allocation of approximately 80% and or approximately 13% water level Level 2 – Fairbairn Dam High Priority Water allocation of approximately 70% and or approximately 10% water level Level 3 – Fairbairn Dam High Priority Water allocation of approximately 60% and or approximately 8% water level Level 4 – Fairbairn Dam High Priority Water allocation of approximately 50% and or approximately 6% water level

The Level 1 water restriction trigger level has been endorsed based on Fairbairn Dam’s current water level of approximately 12.3% and a High Priority Water allocation of 79% (as published by Sunwater). The  Level 1 water restrictions is being introduced pending the finalisation of a long-term Water Supply Agreement for Middlemount.
