Campbelltown residents can now have their say on a proposal to standardise the classification of the land across the Campbelltown Sportsground precinct as operational land.

Currently, the land within the site is a mix of community and operational land and the proposal would allow Council to bring consistency across the site in terms of its classification and simplify the ongoing management and governance of the site.

If endorsed, the planning proposal would allow Council to better plan for future activities or sporting and entertainment upgrades that would help realise the precinct’s potential as a key location for entertainment and sporting events identified in the Reimagining Campbelltown City Centre Master Plan.

Reclassifying the land to ‘operational’ would improve efficiencies and increase opportunities for Council to activate the site and improve on its sports and entertainment theme.

The reclassification planning proposal is not a rezoning of the land meaning the current on the land remain unchanged.

The planning proposal is on public exhibition until Thursday 9 December.
