We are Campbelltown, a 10-part documentary series which highlighted the people at the heart of some of the city’s businesses, has been announced as a finalist in the Destination Campaign of the Year category in the NSW Tourism Awards.
The series was produced by Brick Studios, a collective of local filmmakers, in collaboration with Council and showcased the stories and personalities behind a broad range of businesses across Campbelltown.
“We are Campbelltown was launched in November 2020 to respond to the challenges of the COVID pandemic and the first lockdown by boosting local pride in small business while also inviting people from outside the area to see what we have to offer here,” Mayor George Brticevic said.
“The campaign engaged strongly with our community and also received coverage across local and metropolitan media,” Cr Brticevic said.
“It’s fantastic to see the hard work that went into putting this campaign together recognised with this nomination in the NSW Tourism Awards,” he said.
The series featured local attractions such as the Dharawal National Park, Campbelltown Arts Centre and Australian Botanic Garden Mountain Bike Trail while also celebrating the wide variety of cuisines available across the city at local eateries.
Award winners will be announced at a gala event on 3 February next year.
