The City of Wanneroo recently hosted a workshop for industry experts to assess its performance as a Water Sensitive City.

The Water Sensitive Cities (WSC) Index is a tool that benchmarks a local government area based on its performance against a range of water sensitive city goals and urban water indicators. The tool also enables cities to set water targets and model the impact of potential responses.

Workshop attendees included representatives from state government agencies, agribusiness, local developers and City administration staff.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said data from the day will help inform an action plan to guide the City’s journey to becoming even more water sensitive than its current Gold Waterwise status.

“The City of Wanneroo is committed to improving our water efficiency and we will continue to work together with our stakeholders in response to water-related challenges,” Mayor Roberts said.
