Council secures funding for major upgrades to Jacksons Track

Published on 17 November 2021

Baw Baw Shire Council has secured $824,000 in State Government funding to carry out major road upgrades to Jacksons Track near Labertouche.

The Jacksons Track Road reconstruction project is part of the Victorian Governments $20 million AgriLinks Upgrade Program designed to support shovel-ready local road improvement projects across the State.

The project will widen and reconstruct sections of Jacksons Track between Labertouche Road and Old Telegraph Road. The road upgrades seek to promote an alternative tourism route from Melbourne to the northern area of the Shire and enhance the possibility of farm gate sales for businesses in the region.

The total project is set to cost $1,523,000 with Council contributing $699,000 from the Road Reconstruction Program to fund the project.

Project works are set to begin within the month with a conclusion date scheduled for April 2022 weather permitting.

For more information on current and upcoming roadworks that may impact your area, please visit Council’s website.
