The Special Works and Transformation Team, or S.W.A.T team as they’re affectionately known, are back and this time they’ve stormed Avalon Village for a cleaning offensive.
The 30-strong team are getting the village ready for Christmas and the warmer summer months taking on a range of tasks including high pressure cleaning, replacing bins, fixing lights, trimming palm trees and line marking the pedestrian crossings.
While Council crews are out and about doing cleansing rounds in Avalon regularly, the S.W.A.T Team is an opportunity to coordinate a blitz to knock off all those little jobs that can really make a difference in one go.
The S.W.A.T are distinguishable in hi-vis vests and their Avalon village mission will be complete by end of November, weathering permitting.
Stay tuned for more S.W.A.Ts rolling out in other areas across the Northern Beaches in the coming months.
