Wyndham City’s Werribee Outdoor Pool is reopening this Friday 12 November after a major $1.5 million upgrade.
During winter and Spring, the Werribee Outdoor Pool underwent significant improvement works on the base infrastructure of the pool including retiling, as well as the installation of a sustainable pool pump and filter.
The Leisure Pool plant works mark the completion of a full upgrade to the filtration system at Werribee Outdoor Pool and will deliver a 90 per cent saving in water consumption and a 30 per cent saving in energy and chemical consumption.
Wyndham City’s Active City portfolio holder Cr Peter Maynard said: “Over a typical summer period, the Pool welcomes up to 60,000 visitors — showing just how valued the facility is by all Wyndham residents.”
“The last improvement works were performed in 2007, so we expect that this major upgrade will benefit the ever changing and growing Wyndham community for many more years to come.”
WynActive’s General Manager of Aquatics Facilities, Barry Harrison said: “The investment that Council has made into Werribee Outdoor Pool has resulted in a more reliable and user-friendly facility for all of our customers, including schools. The new Public Address System ensures an even safer environment for visitors.”
