Wyndham City has awarded BildGroup the contract for the $5 million Sneydes Road Rehabilitation Project.

The Sneydes Road rehabilitation is one of Council’s largest road projects for 2021/2022 and includes pavement rehabilitation of Sneydes Road between Hacketts Road and Lennon Boulevard in Point Cook.

The pavement will be removed and relayed to level and strengthen the foundation of Sneydes Road, including intersection works.

Wyndham City Mayor Cr Adele Hegedich said: “The rehabilitation works will make Sneydes Road smoother, safer and more enjoyable for motorists to use.”

The project received $3.5 million funding from Wyndham City and $1.5 million from the Federal Government as part of the Roads to Recovery Program.

Construction works will run from late November 2021 and conclude by April 2022. Works will be performed in stages with all traffic transferred to a single lane during certain project stages.

The rehabilitation works will mostly follow standard operating hours. When intersection works commence for two weekends at Sneydes Road and Boardwalk Boulevard and Sneydes Road and Hacketts Road, there will be a requirement to close the intersections for night works during this period.

“We ask residents to plan ahead and allow for traffic delays in the area,” Cr Hegedich said.

Wyndham City is also investing a further $12.9 million to resurface and reconstruct various local roads throughout the municipality as part of the 2021/22 local roads program.
