Wyndham City 23 Nov 2021

Wyndham City is proud to announce Ashlee Brown as its One Wyndham recipient for November.

Ms Brown was nominated because of her tenacity and her ability to overcome adversity. She is inspiring and a great example of how you can overcome and achieve great things, despite circumstances.

One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 and 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.

Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘Young Person of the Month’.

Winners are awarded a $200 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.

Ms Brown has overcome many personal challenges and has worked hard to create a better life for herself and her children.  She is single mum to two children and shares her time between studying, running a small candle making business and helping others.

Wyndham Mayor Cr Adele Hegedich said: “Ashlee volunteers her time running on-line support groups for people dealing with trauma. Mentoring and assisting others to share their stories and move forward with their lives.”

Cr Hegedich said: “Ashlee is making a positive difference in our community by her positive can-do attitude and her helping others overcome trauma through her support groups.”
