Go for 2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegetables and family connectedness were the messages of the day at the Kambalda Children’s Week go For 2 & 5 event held at the Kambalda Aquatic Facility on October 31st.

Thanks to a grant supplied by Meerlinga, Lotterywest, Healthway WA and the Department of Communities patrons were treated to entry to the Aquatic Facility along with a sausage sizzle, fruit and vegetable cups, use of the large-scale pool inflatables, oversized out door games and fun competitions all at no cost.

The day was perfect for a swim and some healthy snacks pool side as families enjoyed free food and lots of activities.  For those who had some basketball skills to show off there was a Shoot The Hoops competition.

Another competition for families to do together was the ‘Find the Gold Nugget’ competition. Winners of both competitions received vouchers for local business, Kathie’s kiosk. The giveaways promoting activity and inclusivity didn’t stop there with the major prize of the day being a one-hour hire voucher for the large scale pool inflatable Anaconda.
