An internal audit review by an independent external auditor has been undertaken and determined that the previous General Manager did not directly breach any of Council’s procurement policies in respect of a single Council grant writer during the period October 2014 to June 2021 and has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
Council is taking the opportunity to adopt the auditor’s recommendations to update its Procurement Policy and Procedures.
PUBLIC STATEMENTAs previously announced, Glenn Carroll departed the Council and his role as General Manager on 21 October 2021.
Glenn was an employee of Weddin Shire Council for 21 years, including 13 years as the Director Corporate Services, and most recently 8 years as the Council’s General Manager. During this time, Glenn made a significant contribution to both the Council itself and to the local community.
Over the last 21 years, Glenn was instrumental in improving the Council’s operations. He delivered on some of the most strategic and challenging projects Council has ever delivered to date, including the following highly esteemed projects:
the new Grenfell Aquatic Centre, the Grenfell Medical Centre, the Henry Lawson Park amenities upgrade, and many roads and bridge projects.These significant projects were recognised in 2020, when the Council was awarded runner up in the Regional and Rural Council category of the AR Bluett Memorial Award.
Glenn was a dedicated General Manager. Glenn’s work is highly commendable and his departure will be noticed throughout the community.
Council cannot thank Glenn enough for his dedication, respect, enthusiasm, professionalism, honesty and motivation over the last two decades and wishes him luck in all future career endeavours.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST: TAXI SERVICE CONTRACTCouncil is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the provision of a Taxi Service in Grenfell.
Remuneration will be $750 per week (GST Exc), plus the Contractor will be entitled to all takings. In addition, Council will provide a vehicle and subsidise some operational costs.

BOGOLONG DAM PRECINCT MASTERPLANCouncil has engaged Civille Pty Ltd to develop a Masterplan for the Bogolong Dam Precinct that outlines the direction Council aims to take to improve and enhance this community space as a recreational tourist destination.

Written submissions are invited and will be received by the undersigned up until 4:00pm on Wednesday, 15 December 2021.
Additionally, a public consultation session will be held at the Grenfell Hub on Wednesday, 1 December 2021 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm. Council Engineers and representatives from Civille Pty Ltd will be available during this time to discuss the Masterplan and answer any questions.
