ROAD CONDITION REPORT - 25/11/2021
Lachlan Council News 25 Nov 2021

All unsealed roads within Lachlan Shire have been closed to vehicles over three (3) tonne until 11.00am Friday 26th November 2021, when the condition of the roads will be reviewed. Unless advised otherwise, roads will be reopened to all traffic after that time. School buses, Council road repair plant and Emergency Services are exempted, subject to normal risk assessment.

Please note that concessions are possible on request, for urgent transport activity on routes considered suitable to carry the proposed loading. Contact Lachlan Shire Council’s Infrastructure Services Department to discuss requirements for a concession.

Council regrets the inconvenience caused, however, the preservation of the road asset is of prime importance. Motorists are asked to use extreme caution when travelling in the wet weather.

Road Closures (due to flooding):

•North Forbes Road (SR 85) is CLOSED to all vehicles due to water over the road approx. 12km east of Condobolin.

•Lachlan Valley Way (MR 377) South Forbes Road is CLOSED to all vehicles just east of Jemalong, at the 21 Mile.

Road Open – with extreme caution

Kiacatoo Road (MR 7521) west of Kiacatoo has water across road and should be travelled with extreme caution.  Although the road surface is not damaged at present road users should be aware that damage can occur suddenly.

Water is expected to remain across Kiacatoo Road while the Lachlan River is at high levels.

Please avoid walking or driving through flood waters, it may be deeper and faster flowing than anticipated and/or the road may have suffered extensive damage hidden beneath the water.
