FLOOD INFORMATION

 Council continues to work with the SES to respond to the evolving flood event and will support the SES to keep the community informed. For up-to-date flood information and bulletins visit www.ses.nsw.gov.au or call 13 25 00. If your life is at risk, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Motorists are reminded not to drive through floodwaters and to proceed with caution on all roads. Please check Council’s website, social media, and the NSW LiveTraffic app for road closures. For specific road hazards or road condition concerns please contact Council on 02 6895 1900.

GUM BEND LAKE, Condobolin

Road open however exercise caution where water is over the road. Camping area is closed until further notice.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION

THIS SATURDAY – E WARD ONLY

4 December 2021. The following polling places will operate in E Ward (Lake Cargelligo and district).

- Lake Cargelligo Memorial Hall in Foster Street from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

- Murrin Bridge Pre-School from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

All other Wards in the Shire are uncontested and residents in A, B, C, and D Wards are not required to vote.

PRE-POLL AND ONLINE VOTING

For those unable to attend a polling place on election day pre-poll and online voting is available. Pre-poll voting will be held at the Lake Cargelligo Memorial Hall from 9:00am to 5:00pm until 3 December 2021. OFFICE CLOSURE - CONDOBOLIN

Council’s administration office, libraries, and HACC services will be closed between 9:00am and 10:30am on Thursday 9 December 2021.

RATE INSTALMENT AND WATER ACCOUNT REMINDER

Payments were due on 30 November 2021. If you were unable to pay, please contact one of the revenue team to discuss your repayment options.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC EXHIBITION

The Draft Rural and Industrial Land Use Strategy is on public exhibition for 60 days, from 29 November 2021 to 1 February 2022. The Strategy is to guide land use planning for industrial and rural development for the next 20 years. You can view the Strategy on Council’s website: https://www.lachlan.nsw.gov.au/council/public-exhibition.aspx or at Council’s Administration Offices in Condobolin and Lake Cargelligo; Tottenham Post Office; or Tullibigeal Co-Op. In January 2022 Council staff will attend various locations throughout the Shire to seek community feedback. AUSTRALIA DAY EVENT 2022

The Lachlan Shire Council 2022 NSW Local Citizen of the Year Awards will be held at the Lake Cargelligo Power Boat and Sail Club on Wednesday 26 January commencing at 8:00am.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR WORKSHOP

ROADS

▪ SR 120 Merribogie Road - reconstruct and widen next 2 km to commence.

▪ Maintenance grading on the unsealed road network is continuing as weather and floodwaters permit.

▪ Road inspections in progress following Lachlan Shire’s inclusion in the Natural Disaster zone.

UTILITIES

Tottenham Water Treatment Plant - Chlorine system upgrade progressing, with an expected completion and commissioning in late December.

Condobolin Bore Pipeline project – commenced with approximately 3km of pipeline laid. Due to the wet weather and flooding the project will resume in January 2022.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND COMMUNITY BUILDING PROJECT UPDATES

Condobolin Animal Shelter - walls constructed and roof in progress.

Gum Bend Lake amenities - tiling and fit-out underway.

Condobolin Men’s Shed extension - preparation for slab pour.

Youth Centre and community hub, Condobolin – work commenced on community hub space refurbishment.

Tottenham Caravan Park Camp Kitchen -contractor appointed.

Burcher Camp Ground – contractor appointed for the erection of a storage shed and camp kitchen.

New Condobolin Work Depot – concrete pours in progress for new store and workshop.
