ARTBOX is heading to Willie Smith’s!
The exhibition is called Suspended Breath: A Hartz Journey and features artists Kat Scarlet, Gareth Dawson and Jane Rawson. It is a collaborative exhibition of painting, music and words dedicated to the Hartz Mountains.
The exhibition explores how change in the landscape and the living creatures of the mountains affect our understanding of and relationship with the place, and is in essence, a love letter to a landscape found nowhere else on earth.
A celebration will be held this Friday evening for the opening of the exhibition. There will be two bands (Barefoot Nellie and guitarist Tom Steel) plus an outside bar.
The exhibition will be at Willie Smith’s from Friday until Sunday 9 January.
The Huon Valley Council acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the South East Nation, the Melukerdee people of the Huon River and the Lyluequonny people of the Far South. We recognise their continuing connection to land, water and culture, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
Community engagement is about us working together to understand and resolve an issue or project. It is a process that involves the public in decision making and the use of community input to make better, more informed decisions.
